Our Vision

AVI envisions an African society, particularly Nigeria, where integrity, respect, neighbourliness and the rule of law govern her affairs.

"I hope I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain, what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man" - George Washington

Our Mission

We are committed to the ethical re-orientation of the African society through the promotion of Africa's traditional values of integrity, respect for human rights, rule of law, and good neighbourliness.

These we believe are the foundations for a non-corrupt, dependable, sustainable, secured and inheritable Africa and Nigeria in particular.

Organization Overview

Why African Values Initiative?

The political and economic decay occasioned by corruption, poor leadership and insecurity which we experience today in our society is as a result of our inability to employ strategically our traditional values system in the management of the affairs of African nations, Nigeria in particular.

African Values Initiative (AVI) is the product of inspired strategic and productive thinking focused on the way out of the issues of corruption, insecurity, abuse of law and human rights, lack of national interest, public misconduct and poor leadership as well as other social vices which are the consequences of Values System degeneration.

Our Approach

Integrity, Respect and Neighbourliness are the three traditional virtues of the African Values System. As a matter of fact, the greatness of Africa of old was rooted in her rich Golden Values.

If we desire a socially sound, dependable and inheritable society tomorrow, then we must be committed to the inculcation of the tenets of our traditional values in the hearts of the citizens, particularly our Youth and Children today.

"Youth and Children not guided today will lead to a frustrated future"

Our Core Values in Detail

Integrity

We believe integrity will stand you out, it doesn't matter how long it takes. Building reputation, accountability, and relationships through honest dealings and moral uprightness in all our interactions.

Respect

Fostering mutual respect for human rights, dignity, cultural diversity, and different perspectives. We promote communication that honors the inherent worth of every individual.

Neighbourliness

Encouraging good neighbourliness and peaceful co-existence among Africans. Being our neighbour's keeper, not killer, and building strong, supportive communities.

Collaborative Approach

Working Together for Change

Governments of some African States, particularly Nigeria, through Anti-Corruption agencies and Conduct Orientation Programmes have made passionate efforts to curb the menace yet the decay continues.

The fight to free Africa from these social vices that ravage her requires the participation of all well-meaning Africans and friends of Africa home and abroad.

We believe that the African society, particularly Nigeria, could be re-engineered through the promotion of these symbolic cultural essentials of our values system, thereby making her dependable, sustaining and inheritable.

"The destiny of Africa is in Africa. It is never too late to achieve Africa of our dream. It only requires more commitment to our traditional values once again."
